This handy browser tool, utilized extensively in Chrome extension development, is designed to accelerate and simplify the process of HTML document validation. This article delves into the features, functionalities, and user reviews of this notable Chrome extension.

Outstanding Features of Validity Chrome Extension

Validity is a user-friendly chrome extension that provides quick and hassle-free HTML validation, right from your toolbar. The tool enables users to validate their current HTML document without shifting away from the page. The number of validation errors is conveniently visible in a tooltip and the detailed error list is accessible in the console tab of Chrome's developer tools . Moreover, Validity allows users to utilize their own installation of the W3C Validation Service for a more personalized validation experience.

User Reviews and Feedback

Validity's high rating can be attributed to its efficiency and convenience, as echoed by several user reviews. For instance, Rafi Strauss notes that it "works fantastically, speeds up my validation workflow by an order of magnitude", while Stuart McMillan humorously asserts, "12/10 would validate again".

However, like any other tool, Validity isn't immune to criticism. Some users have reported issues related to character encoding and the absence of an option to ignore certain warning types. For instance, Jimmy Hellas pointed out a recurring character encoding issue while Not Applicable noted the lack of an option to ignore errors for non-standard attributes, which are still valid under HTML 5.

Dealing with Issues and Providing Solutions

The developers of Validity regularly address user feedback and incorporate necessary improvements. For instance, they have made regular updates to the extension to fix bugs, add new features, and enhance its functionality. From adding support for Retina and high DPI displays to reducing its memory and CPU footprint, the developers are committed to making Validity a reliable and efficient tool for HTML validation.

A High-Value Chrome Extension

Validity's high rating and widespread popularity in the realm of Chrome extension development tools are a testament to its value and efficiency. Whether you develop websites or need a quick tool to validate your HTML documents, Validity can be a great addition to your browser tools.

In conclusion, while this extension isn't perfect and there's room for improvement, Validity has proven itself to be a valuable Chrome extension. It stopped working. They must remove it from the Chrome Web Store.

Rafi Strauss

Stuart McMillan

12/10 would validate again

Jimmy Hellas

Getting "The character encoding was not declared. Proceeding using “windows-1252”." for all websites. Particularly, mine does declare UTF-8

Nguyen Long

very good

Marc Reitz

Doesn't work. Complains about character encoding not declared. But it is declared and W3-Validator shows no problems. So: Useless Extension

Igor Surini

the instruction are outdated/faulty, after "icon-click" it opens only menu, no validation at all...

Not Applicable

Lacks an option to ignore certain error/warning types which is important since the official validator flags errors for non-standard attributes which are still VALID under HTML 5. Makes the results very hard to use for anyone using AngularJS or similar on their site.

M Usman Nadeem

icon show in bar but did not work

constantine

The only validation plugin that works for me for webpages that are not online yet / on a proxy. Works like a charm, thanks.
